Jidong Yang
Innovative practitioner; Council Member of the Shanghai Industrial Design Association; Council Member of the Shanghai Cultural and Creative Industry Promotion Association. He graduated from Tsinghua University and Jiangnan University, majoring in Industrial Design. With over twenty years of experience in design innovation education and design management, he has long been deeply engaged in the innovative R&D of smart technology products and fashion consumer goods. He possesses extensive successful practice and rich, distinctive insights in fields such as lifestyle and brand strategy, market and product definition, user experience and interaction design, and new material R&D and innovation. He proposed the collaborative innovation viewpoint of “Using Design to Activate Technological Competitiveness.” He has provided innovative design services for Fortune Global 500 companies including Dow (USA), Intel, Philips, Broadcom, and Xiaomi. He has won numerous domestic and international design awards, including the German iF Design Award, Red Dot Design Award, Japanese Good Design Award, and American IDEA Award. His design works are collected by multiple institutions. He was selected for the Key Talent Pool for Entrepreneurship and Creativity of the Department of Cultural Industry, Ministry of Culture. He received the 2015 Guanghua Longteng Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology—Nomination Award for the Top Ten Outstanding Young People in China’s Design Industry, and the Third Prize of the 2021 Anhui Provincial Science and Technology Award.
