Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, Department of History, East China Normal University; Distinguished Professor, Macau University of Science and Technology (lecturing on the Medieval section of the History of Western Culture). He has visited and exchanged ideas with many academic institutions in Italy, including Pontifical Gregorian University, University of Trento, University of Aberdeen (UK), Institute of Historical Research, Goa (India), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tao Fung Shan Art Grove (Hong Kong), Fu Jen Catholic University, National Chengchi University and Chung Yuan Christian University (Taiwan), and was a Visiting Scholar of the Department of History of Art at the University of Heidelberg (Germany) from 2006 to 2008, where he studied the history of the development of Baroque art outside of Europe. From 2006 to 2008, he was a visiting scholar in the Department of Art History at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where he researched the history of Baroque art outside of Europe. His main research interests include the history of the Christian Church, the history of colonial Asia in the early modern period, and the history of Western art. He was awarded the Second Prize of the 14th Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences (Disciplinary Writings Category) of Shanghai Municipality.
